Clear Pastures is a tree and brush clearing company that offers its services throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska.
We are a family owned business intent on customer satisfaction.
We use the most efficient equipment available to cut and stack your trees and brush
The primary cutting machine is a powerful skid steer with a 26" circular saw blade attached which allows for trees to be cut at or just below ground level, then we use a grapple to pickup and stack into piles.
As we all know there are both Federal and State programs out there that provide different forms of financial incentives to improve your land and there is also some that pay to have trees removed from your property.
You can increase your grazing acres, improve wildlife habitat, and increase ground water availability all while receiving financial assistance through a brush management practice within the Federal WHIP/EQUIP programs or through State Programs.
So, How exactly do removing trees from my land help?
You get increased grazing acres by removing trees from the landscape because it allows the land to come back into grass for your cattle to graze. There are many acres of land with 50% or more canopy covered by cedars, meaning essentially half that acre cannot be grazed at the level it could be otherwise. On that piece of land it would take only 30 acres of cedar clearing to have an additional cow/calf pair on your land.
Improved wildlife habitat because trees take away native grasses which are preferred habitat for upland bird brood rearing and nesting. Additionally, trees provide places for hawks to perch to hunt the grass around it, this further decreases upland bird chances for survival because their primary source of mortality is predation.
You will have increased ground water availability because approximately 1 acre of cedar trees absorbs 55,000 gallons of water a year.
Keep in mind that you'll be gaining additional grazing acres and you can also pair this practice with prescribed burning and/or prescribed grazing incentive practices for additional assistance and to keep the trees from coming back after removal.
